Anerkannte USA-Akkreditierungen
Für die Anerkennung von Hochschulausbildungen und –abschlüssen ist es erforderlich, dass die Studienprogramme entsprechend akkreditiert sind. In den USA muss die Hochschule mindestens regional akkreditiert sein, wenn vorhanden muss zusätzlich eine berufsspezifische Akkreditierung vorliegen (National Accreditation), um den in den USA erworbenen Grad z. B. in Deutschland führen zu dürfen. Es kann aber noch zusätzliche Ausnahmeregelungen geben. So muss z. B. zur Allgemeingenehmigung der Führungserlaubnis eines US-MBA zusätzlich die AACSB-Akkreditierung vorliegen. Die AACSB-Akkreditierung sollte vielmehr als reines Gütesiegel betrachtet werden.
Probleme kann es auch geben, wenn z. B. ein Abschluss an einer DETC-akkreditierten (National Accreditation) Hochschule erworben wird. In Deutschland kann der Grad dann nicht geführt werden. Außerdem gibt es meistens Schwierigkeiten mit der Anerkennung für Aufbaustudien an regional akkreditierten Hochschulen. Es ist theoretisch nicht unmöglich, dass ein solcher DETC-Abschluss voll angerechnet wird; jedoch stehen die Chancen ziemlich schlecht. Es gibt auch zahlreiche regional akkreditierte Hochschulen mit berufsspezifischer Anerkennung, an denen Fern- und Onlinestudiengänge absolviert werden können, die in Deutschland führbar sind.
