da äussert sich ein "eingeborener" zum leidigen Probleme "wo bekomme ich ein (firmen)bankkonto in einem offshore-land" - eindrücklich... nicht zuletzt auch bezüglich des hinweises auf die gefahren der beschlagnahmung!!!

Re: need a good bank in Panama

Don't waste your time on Panama. Fees are high in many cases and service is terrible. I sent a wire from Costa Rica to Panama (we're neighbors) and it took almost 45 days to get deposited on the receiver's account at Banco Uno. My bank in Costa Rica traced the deposit and it was in the bank's account in 3 days after I sent the wire. Panama companies are overpriced and their banks are trashy for the small to medium sized businessman in my opinion. Get a bank account in Cyprus or Latvia and you will be better served.

BTW: When you open a Panamanian bank account remotely they always ask for a full apostilled copy of your passport. In all actuality they use this to place an entrance stamp on one of the pages because Panamanian law requires that the person opening the account must be present in the country and have an address in Panama. You are actually creating an account which would be considered as illegal if the financial authorities decided to cross refernce the immigration records with the Financial Authority's data.

wie es sich genau verhält mit diesem interessant anmutenden "informationsaustausch" zwischen panama-behörden, kann ich nicht beurteilen... ist halt "südmittelkaribik"-zone... da herrschen eben andere zustände und "normalitäten" 8-)

... da warte ich lieber bei lloyds tsb, barclays, natwest und hsbc länger als ein halbes jahr und kann meinen kunden in der folge ein konto bei der REPUTABLEN Bank anbieten 8-)
