als neuste jurisdiction hat sich der us-senat auf die karibikinsel ST. KITTS & NEVIS eingeschossen... meiner ansicht nach schon lange überfällig - war immer interessant, zu sehen, dass nevis noch nie auf irgendeiner "blacklist" figurierte...

... offenbar ist man sich "onshore" nicht - noch nicht! - gewohnt, mit den unflätigen begehren von "uncle sam" gebührend umzugehen... der ehrenwerte meister der lokalen handelskammer hat keine bessere idee, als den hochwohlgeborenen senatoren der gottgleichen usa "tipps" und anregungen zu geben, um die offenbar immer noch gigantische kapitalflucht betuchter yankees zu stoppen

bin gespannt, wie die bürokraten bei fatf/oecd reagieren... wobei gesagt werden muss: eigentlich ist es ja höchste zeit, dass 'mal jemand diesen arroganten irs-akrobaten den meister zeigt... ob dies allerdings dem ministaat st. kitts & nevis gelingt... wait and see!

St. Kitts-Nevis, a two-island federation in the eastern Caribbean, is one of the world's smallest nations. The island of Nevis is also a major tax haven with excellent offshore laws allowing asset protection trusts, corporations and strict financial privacy. But the recent U.S. Senate (Coleman-Levin) subcommittee report branding the island as a refuge for U.S. tax dodgers has upset the head of the local chamber of commerce. But this nervous businessman has the right idea. Says he: "If the U.S. is unable to stop Americans who evade taxes from doing what they are doing, how do they expect a country with only a fraction of their GDP to do it? That is ridiculous." In other words, it's time to stop these U.S. Senate demagogic attacks on small nations and ask the IRS why they are not enforcing the tax law, if indeed it is being violated. So far we've seen no proof of Senator Levin's wild claim that that "$40 to $70 billi on dollars each year" in taxes are evaded offshore.
